Dear Future Self,
Look at you and yo’ bad self, being all popular and shit! Damn, gurl, you lookin’ fine. Remember when you were happy free confused and lonely at the same time? (I see you haven’t stopped quoting Taylor Swift lyrics at inappropriate times.)
My hope for you, beautiful future, is that you don’t forget how much you love books and how much fun you have blogging. It can be easy to become bogged down in the sordid scandals of the blogging world, the jealousy that you can’t avoid, and the struggle to be unique. Well, guess what? You are unique. Your voice and your words are one-hundred percent authentic, brilliant you. I hope you haven’t forgotten that.
How is the future, btw? Was the end of the Divergent series satisfying? Have you finally mastered your TBR shelf? Does a Harry Potter encyclopedia exist? These are the questions that keep me up at night. If you haven’t figured out the answer to life (42), that’s okay. Maybe as bloggers we aren’t supposed to have everything figured out. Maybe we’re just supposed to give our blogs the love and support they need and everything else will fall into place.
