You would think things would get easier once Kel passed her probationary period and became a real page. Kel still has to fight for her position as a girl in a man’s world.

Page covers Kel’s remaining years as a page. Her years are filled with triumph and bittersweet parting as her older friends become squires and leave the palace. We get a glimpse of the kind of knight Kel’s going to be when she and her friends are attacked by bandits. Kel proves to be the only one capable of leading her friends in battle. She keeps her head in a life-threatening situation and saves everyone’s lives.

Kel worries about her final page exams, but it turns out her real final test involves a kidnapping. I won’t spoil it, but Kel stays true to her rigid sense of honor and self-sacrifice.
