My Life in Book Titles

Jamie from The Perpetual Page-Turner is continuing her Friday Fun series, and I love playing along! This past week was about describing your YA life in book titles. You can read her post here and see what others had to say in the comments! Some of my answers are silly, but most are serious. This was pretty difficult to fill out, but still fun!

You:

How would you describe your 16 year old self? This Is Shyness [I could barely look people in the eye, I was so shy.]
When You Looked Into The Mirror What Did You See:  The Different Girl [I was always like, why aren’t I as pretty/tall/skinny/etc. as everyone else? I had a seriously skewed view of the world.]
Your 16 your old self outlook on life/motto: I’ll Be There [I place a very high value on loyalty and friendship, so I’ve always made being a good friend a priority.]
How You Think People Would Describe Your Personality:  Krampus: The Yule Lord [hahaha jk I actually have no idea how people would’ve described me.]
Describe An Insecurity In High SchoolIs Everybody Hanging Out Without Me? [This was a big one…I don’t think I ever got over it. I still worry about this constantly.]
Describe Your Worst Trait As A Teen: Invisibility [I tried to stay invisible because I was so shy, but I should’ve just talked to people more/challenged myself more.]
Describe the contents of your diary/journal: Doomsday Book [I had the most emo diary ever. Plus I had an emo xanga. It was an emofest 24/7.]
Your biggest Fear: Life, the Universe, and Everything [I was a bit of a drama queen lol.]
You excelled at: How To Be Good [I was on the straight and narrow, folks. No high school raves or drunken festivities in the woods for me.]
You were always concerned about:  Gossip Girl [I still love to gossip. It’s a terrible habit, but I can’t help myself!]
You Thought Your Life Was: Smart Girls Get What They Want [I had a ton of pressure to get good grades in school so I could get into college, etc.]

Love Life:

How would you sum up your high school love life?  Fairy Tales from the Brothers Grimm [In other words…totally nonexistent lol.]
Describe your most serious boyfriend from high school? Harry Potter [He will always be my most significant relationship hahahaha.]
Describe your first kiss: The Summer Prince [Not a prince at all, considering it was just the one kiss, but I spent a lot of time at the beach during the summer when I was growing up so my first kisses were with boys I never saw again.]
Your philosophy on dating/love: Blood Promise [I was so goddamn serious as a kid. I thought every relationship had to be TRUE LOVE. I didn’t really get the concept of casual dating until college.]
Describe Your Worst Break Up: Fairytales for Wilde Girls [Again…no relationships for me.]

Family:

[Skipping this section because I don’t have good answers!]

Your relationship with your mom as a teen:
Your relationship with your dad as a teen:
Your relationship with a sibling:
What you thought about your parents rules/parenting style:

Friends:

Describe you and your best friend at 16: Linked [We’re still best friends!]
Your Social Status: Mostly Harmless [I wasn’t on the radar, but I had a good group of friends.]
Describe Your Group Of Friends: The Last Summer [The close group of friends that I have now didn’t really get together until senior year and we became super close during the end of the school year/the summer before college.]

School:

Your Perception Of High School Upon Entering: The Testing [I’d never been around so many people before (my high school was huge). Would I be trampled? Would the school swallow me whole?]
Your relationship with academics: How Zoe Made Her Dreams (Mostly) Come True [High school was all about getting into college.]
Your Weekends Were: A Long, Long Sleep [I doubt I was ever up before noon.]
If Your High School Life Was A Movie It would be called: Rump: The True Story of Rumpelstiltskin [PLOT TWIST. I’m actually Rumpelstiltskin and this whole time I’ve been spinning gold and making bargains with everyone I encounter.]
A Class You Wish High School Would Have Offered: Anatomy of a Boyfriend [Get your head of the gutter! I mean this like how to get/keep a boyfriend.]
Your Senior Year Was: This is What Happy Looks Like [Like I said earlier, senior year was when my core group of friends got together and plus there was the whole senioritis thing.]
Describe prom: [No prom for me! I actually didn’t go to a single school dance ever. Dancing wasn’t my thing at all. I like to dance now, but back then the very idea horrified me.]
When High School Ended It Was: The Distance Between Us [I put high school behind me the second I walked out of there. I was so ready for college!]

The Future:

How You Felt About The Prospect of College: Boundless [I was so. excited.]
How You Thought Your Life Would Be At 24 (insert whatever age you are now): Happy Ever After [I had a really stupid view of when I wanted to do things (like when I should get married, have kids, etc.). Yeahhhh, not so much haha. I needed a reality check pronto.]

Your Life Now:

Describe Your Love Life Now: Fangirl [(I’m still not in a relationship, so I’m choosing to ignore the “love” in this question lol.) I’m a part of so many fandoms and basically I go from not interested to OBSESSED in two seconds. Before I was only that way about HP, but now it’s everything.]
Describe The State Of Your Friendship With Your High School BFF: The Sea of Tranquility [We’re still super close and there’s never any drama.]
Your Relationship With Your Parents Now: Something Like Normal [Still a work-in-progress.]
Your Thoughts On Your High School Reunion (either if you had it or if it’s upcoming): Once We Were [I have no interest in seeing anyone from high school other than my BFFs and I don’t need a reunion for that haha.]
Biggest Lesson You Learned In High School: Ready or Not [Shit happens whether you’re prepared or not.]
One Thing You WISHED You Had Learned: How to Love [whomp whomp no boyfriends for me lololol.]
Advice You Wish You Could Have Given Your Teen Self: The Year of Secret Assignments [You think you only need to do schoolwork, but being successful involves so much more so I wish I had focused on soft skills like how to present to a group of people or how to network.]
Something You Could Learn From Your 16 Year Old Self: Not a Drop to Drink [Alcohol is not my friend lololol.]
