Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Contemporary Books I Can’t Believe I Haven’t Read Yet

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where each week we get a new topic for a top ten list. While contemporary isn’t my favorite, I try to read the big titles. But there are some that I’ve heard people raving about for ages that I still haven’t gotten to.

  1. The Impossible Knife of Memory was my favourite book that i read last year! It was spectacular and heart breaking but so so beautiful and hopeful. Second Chance Summer, My Life Next Door and Jellicoe Road are 2 other tops faves. I have Something Like Normal on my list too and can’t wait to read it! 🙂 The Distance Between Us and Kasie’s other contemp are SO cute it kills me! And Life By Committee was incredibly thought provoking.

Great list! I hope you love them all so much 🙂
    My Top Ten

  2. Second Chance Summer is reeeeeaaaallllyyy good! I read The Impossible Knife of Memory about two months ago and it was fantastic! I loved it! It is pretty dark though. I read The Year of Secret Assignments in high school (which was at least 6 years ago… more like 8 since I read it.) and I loved it then. Don’t know if I would now, but I still recommend it because I liked it when I was 16. Great List!

  3. I’ve read a few of these! I wasn’t much of a contemporary reader either, but after I read Huntley Fitzpatrick and Morgan Matson, I started to branch out. Try a Sarah Dessen book, too!
